Natures last call

“Cukdu ku cukdu ku” and it started getting louder as I lousily rose from my bed and put it off. It is my alarm ringtone I keep this one so that I can wake up on time but even this fails sometime and it has again failed today when I had something very important on priority list.
31st December 2099
A meeting with environmental experts to get team ready for upcoming environmental catastrophes. While brushing my teeth I thought
Sustainability was something which was defined by forefathers of our fathers and what makes me astonished is they defined and forgot and that’s why we suffer today.
If our parents had understood earlier and made a better choice between economy and environment we wouldn’t have been facing this today.
Now technology has reached new helms, beyond what our forefathers might have imagined and now we live in an era we call “Natures last call”.
In last, four or five decades though our parents significant efforts to brought Global Warming under control failed and it is because their prediction about its effect on environment and us are drastically different from what they had predicted.
55*C is normal now and storms, typhoons, cyclones are normal now. But, we know are sustaining all these things, now to sustain this high temperature we have built a smart skin which insulates us and keep our body temperature under control which is put within five hours after a child born and it grows as he grows. And to fight storms buildings are much like rotating ones which rotates themselves and comes into position of least resistance and we have also entered into a world of smart material.

By the time I had bath and put my black suit with green tie a perfect match for a meeting of this kind, clock stroked 8:05 AM and I have to reach Gurgaon from New Delhi, but thanks to the new ultra fast network laid five years back that makes it possible in less than 15 minutes and it have zero Green House Emissions.
I forgot to tell you that Global Warming in the past had hit us so hard that we consider it now to be the greatest terror. It has resulted in not only loss of natural vegetation but also had resulted in drowning of major portion of lands due to polar melt downs. About 20 % of total earth’s surface has drowned and we had lost cities like Mumbai and Hyderabad. And that shifted everything to Gurgaon from Sensex to B-world everything has relocated stressing this remaining land. But this is something which happened nearly 40 years back and after that we have all united and not only brought our CO2 emissions down but also have found means to capture out of our atmosphere effectively. But only thing which makes us stop is “How good it would have been if our forefathers had given a second thought, when they made their choice”.
These thoughts trigger tears, well right now there is no time for tears. I for one last time glanced at my notes for meeting and went through bullet points and left home with my son repeating his morning lessons which h got fainter as I moved “ A for Atom B for boy C for Can ……………”
This again brought older thoughts time of our childhood at that time we used to have A for apple B for boy C for cat but now after losing many of fruits and animals they have also been eliminated from curriculum.
Here, I reached Lions Club building which has floor area equivalent to that of 50 football grounds but base area just 250 square metres and this is all result of increasing stress on land.
And as I entered the building it became quite clear because everyone is conversing about the same thing “What will come out of this meeting?”
This is because now environmental reforms have gained greater importance than anything else even political and economic reforms.
Today, after having successfully eliminating CO2 emissions now our aim is to bring solid waste generation to zero and in fast two decades though we have replaced everything with degradable that too in sort span of time merely two months but now we are stressing to change every packaging material with eatable packaging to relieve earth off this also as we are already falling short of land filling areas.

14, 15 and as it flashed 16 on elevator’s digital screen its door open and I have reached the place 5 minutes prior to schedule and expected that I might be first who arrived, but to my utter surprise, everyone has already occupied their seats and I am last one to reach the place.
This though embarrassed me a little, but made me more proud as it is good to see this generation so much concerned for something which was taken for granted by our forefathers.
Committee for Energy and Environment’s (CEE) chairman welcomed and addressed us to recent developments and then important points regarding solid waste elimination were discussed how to implement and most importantly sustain this reform.
But to us all something which was more pressing was what will be discussed after tea as chairman has already stressed what we will be discussing will be really be something which we haven’t been yet prepared for.
After ten minutes tea break when all of us assembled back chairman once again rose off his chair and went by side of projecting screen and projected first slide of presentation it displayed
Global Warming: Reached to a Stable level
And each one of us was looking at each other what this means?
Chairman started in our previous meetings we were stressing for Carbon capture sequestration (CCS), believing that it might help us in reducing average temperature but what studies by scientists at IEERO (International Energy and environment Research Organisation) claims that Global warming has reached a stable level a level at which it has become now stable and our any effort to reduce it off by capturing it will not help us. They believe that it has attained equilibrium where any chances to reduce its partial pressure will trigger reactions which will bring it back to same level so our plans of capturing it and disposing it to the Jupiter’s surface for its unique ability to absorb CO2 permanently is of no help. So, I want you now to focus on this issue now.
With this note he showed us some slides of stats and consequences.
But I was no longer listening to it because I have reached somewhere else

Few days back while watching a documentary named
Natures last call: Remains Unheard
It showed how nature showed sign of its continuous deteriorating but no doctor and none of its family members i.e. our predecessors remained deaf to it.
Melting polar ice caps, drying rivers, seasonal variations and increased frequencies of environmental catastrophes remained invisible to them making it visible to us and generation to come.
***********
This I wrote in order to save something which I perceive might happen in future if we will not pay heed now.
After seeing a documentary named “An inconvenient truth” and recently when I passed of ONGC Bridge in Surat I heard Natures call which I want to make others also hear.
